Alright so first let me start by saying that I am first and foremost a San Diego, Chargers fan. I grew up as the daughter of a season ticket holder so I have been through the good, the bad, and the ugly. Unfortunately for Charger fans a lot of the time it is bad or ugly. I was there when we only won 2 games all season. But let me tell you, I WAS THERE THE ENTIRE TIME.
When I first thought about writing a post about Panther Fans I imagined myself mostly ranting about all the bandwagon fans. Through the past 4 years of having season tickets I have been pretty disappointed with the fan base. I understand that most people are transplants. I get it. I’m one too! But I always was frustrated with how quick the fans would turn.
NOT THIS YEAR! Monday night’s game was probably the best and most memorable I have ever been to here in Charlotte. And I’m not just saying that because protesters decided to repel off the side in our section.
We cheered loud and consistently throughout the entire game. Even though it was rainy and cold fans still showed up! I would even say that it was just as loud in overtime as it was in the first quarter. When we fumbled, dropped passes, overthrow balls, and had some questionable calls, fans still stayed focused and motivated. They did not get defeated and start losing hope.
It may not have been the prettiest win for the Panthers, but they pulled through and the Panthers fans stayed along for the ride! I am so excited to see where this team will take us and I hope the fans will stay as dedicated to the team as they seemed last night.
