A Day in the Life: Waylen

Now that I’ve blogged Waylen’s favorite foods, I’m still getting questions about how often and how much he eats so today I’m going to walk you through a day in the life of Waylen!

Here’s what his typical day looks like:

  • 6:15 Wake up
  • 6:15-6:30 Nurse
  • 630-8:00 Dad and baby play time
  • 8:00-8:15 Breakfast
  • 8:15-9:00 Play
  • 9:00-9:15 Nurse
  • 9:15-11:00 Nap
  • 11:00-11:40 Lunch
  • 11:40- 2:00 Play
  • 2:00-2:10 Nurse
  • 2:10-4:00 Nap #2
  • 4:00-4:30 Dinner
  • 4:30-6:30 Play
  • 6:30 Nurse & Bedtime Routine
  • 7 Bedtime

Now below I’ve laid out some sample meals Waylen will eat. These are just estimates of about what he eats at each meal. Remember he’s a PIG so he eats a lot. I allow him to eat as much or as little food he wants so sometimes mealtime lasts an hour and sometimes it’s done in 15 minutes.

Breakfast Option 1:

  • One entire Protein Waffle
  • 2 slices of Avocado

Breakfast Option 2:

  • Healthy Blueberry Muffin
  • Full fat Yogurt
  • 3 Pear slices

Breakfast Option 3:

  • 2 egg Veggie Omlette
  • Avocado Slices

Lunch Option 1:

  • 1/3 cup left over grilled Mahi Mahi
  • 5 Roasted Veggie Sticks

Lunch Option 2:

  • 1 Shrimp Pattie
  • 5 Sweet Potato Sticks

Lunch Option 3:

  • 2 Mini Egg Muffins
  • 1 “Not Horrible” Pumpkin Muffin
  • 2 Squash Sticks

Dinner Option 1:

  • 2 Chicken Meatballs
  • 1 Coconut nom nom
  • 5 sweet potato sticks
  • 2 zuchinni sticks

Dinner Option 2:

  •  Banza Pasta
  •  1 Meatball
  • 3 Steamed broccoli sticks

Dinner Option 3:

  • Blackbean Patty
  • 2 Avocado Slices
  • 3 Apple Slices

Remember you can find most of these recipes here on my past blog post! I also just made these Shrimp Patties for Waylen this past week and they were a hit! The only thing I did differently is swop out the mayo for Greek yogurt and skip the salt altogether.

Hopefully this answers all your questions but if not feel free to message me! Baby Led Weaning has been such a fun and amazing journey for us and I’m SO glad we decided to go this route. He feeds himself and eats seriously everything even though he still has no teeth ha.
