With your first kid, you rarely leave the house in the beginning and when you finally do you pack everything! I quickly learned with Waylen that you definitely don’t need all the baby’s stuff and the kitchen sink when running to the store so this time around I’ve been very mindful of what I actually bring with me.
First off, I’m having to handle two kiddos so I really can’t afford to be lugging around a bunch of junk I don’t need. Secondly with a toddler and breastfeeding baby you really don’t neeeed that much stuff anyways.
Here’s what’s in my bag:
- 2 diapers for Waylen
- 4 diapers for baby
- Wipes
- Onesie for baby
- Burp cloth
- Hand sanitizer
- Waylen’s water bottle
- Snack for Waylen
That’s it! Trust me, you don’t need that much stuff. With just Waylen I’d already given up carrying a diaper bag months ago! I would just grab a diaper, some wipes, a snack, and throw it all in my normal purse. If you’re really worried about being out of the house without something you need I suggest keeping a larger bag with stuff in your car! We used to do this but I honestly NEVER used it so now I just stick to my mini diaper bag backpack and its perfect!
